Editorial independence

Candour House keeps editorial control of work published under its imprint.

Funding does not purchase a conclusion. A sponsor may pay for a question to be investigated. That payment does not decide what the investigation finds.

The house may take comments on factual accuracy, on the sponsor’s own data, and on legal or confidentiality problems. It does not accept a requirement to reach a predetermined result, or to withhold a legitimate finding because it is inconvenient.

Author, researcher, subject adviser, reviewer and sponsor are different roles. Holding one of them does not confer another.

The agreements that would bind a funded project are still drafts. They need UK legal review before anyone relies on them.
