Sponsor independence

Sponsors fund questions. They do not buy answers.

A sponsor may fund work, propose a question, provide context, provide lawful data, and nominate possible specialists.

A sponsor does not, by funding the work, dictate the conclusion, suppress a legitimate inconvenient finding, secretly choose the reviewers, remove a researcher for a viewpoint, take an editorial veto, or own all of the resulting intellectual property.

Material sponsorship will be disclosed on the work it supports.

No sponsored question is underway. Candour is not inviting sponsorship until a question is strong enough: significant, with an initial look at the evidence, a credible way to investigate it, and people who could do that work.
